Associate Professor David Ellis
David Ellis is Head of the Mycology Unit at the Adelaide Women's and Children's Hospital (WCH) and an Associate Professor in the School of Molecular and Biomedical Science at the University of Adelaide. He graduated from La Trobe University with BSc Hons in 1973, MSc in 1976 and PhD in 1980. He has worked at the WCH since 1978 and is married with two adult children. He is also an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia, an Associate member of the Australasian College of Dermatologists, a member of the Australasian Society for Infectious Diseases and a Fellow of the Australian Society for Microbiology. He is particularly interested the epidemiology and ecology of medically important fungi, especially Cryptococcus neoformans and dermatophytes, and his present research is in this field.
